Adesta, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an OSP Engineer - Telecom. The OSP Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant fiber optic networks for telecom infrastructure. This role involves planning and designing aerial and underground fiber routes, developing construction drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of OSP engineering principles, permitting processes, and field conditions to support reliable, high-performance telecom network deployments.

If your background is fiber design, CAD/GIS telecom drafting, ROW/permitting, or utility distribution design-this role may be a great fit.

Pay Range: $70k-$110k

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design plans and specifications for fiber optics networks, including aerial and underground installations, site layouts, horizontal and vertical layouts, site utilities (including conflicts), fiber optic splice diagrams, and associated civil engineering activities for contract preparation and administration
  • Project management; develop scope of work, cost estimates, permit applications, pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and coordination with field crews and construction contractors
  • Perform work with ESRI ArcGIS, 3GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 2D and 3D software
  • Prepare cost estimates including quantities, material type, equipment, and labor
  • Support others including CADD operators and technicians

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Telecommunications Engineering
  • Current driver's license if driving a company vehicle, or personal vehicle in the course of conducting business (e.g., client visits, attending networking events)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in fiber optics network, electrical engineering, and/or utility design and construction with strong familiarity with broadband networks
  • Experience utilizing applications such as AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, 3GIS, Civil 3D, and MicroStation
  • Familiar with Federal, State, and Local Municipal rules and regulations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to negotiate, motivate and influence others
  • Ability to read and understand advanced technical information/documentation
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint)
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines; excellent follow-up skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers detail-oriented and organized

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Experiences with Illinois Tollway, IDOT, CDOT, and various counties and municipalities regulations and standards
