Winpak Lane is looking for an
Outside Machinery Sales Representative to join their team based out of California.
The Outside Machinery Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth through the promotion and sale of liquid packaging machinery (Heavy). This role combines technical expertise with strong sales acumen to develop new customer relationships, maintain existing accounts, and generate revenue through strategic market engagement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of packaging equipment, customer-centric problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions to clients across diverse industries (e.g., food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, and medical).
Key Responsibilities:Sales & Business Development- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and voice-of-customer (VOC) assessments to guide product positioning and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to promote brand awareness and penetrate new markets.
- Manage sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and closing.
- Conduct client site visits, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support Winpak System Sales through integrated packaging and machinery solutions.
Technical & Product Knowledge- Maintain a thorough understanding of company product offerings, machinery specifications, and integration processes.
- Partner with Engineering, R&D, and Aftermarket teams to ensure accurate communication of equipment capabilities and requirements.
- Provide support for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), installations, and post-sales service requirements.
- Stay informed about competitive products, market trends, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies.
Customer Relationship Management- Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring satisfaction through excellent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Promote aftermarket services including spare parts, maintenance contracts, upgrades, and training.
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure customers receive exceptional support during and after project implementation.
- Train customers on proper equipment use and serve as a customer advocate to internal teams.
Reporting & Forecasting- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and contribute to annual budgeting processes.
- Track sales performance against goals and report progress to leadership.
- Analyze sales and service data to identify opportunities for revenue growth and improvement.
Required Qualifications- Post Secondary Education in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
- 5+ years of experience in outside sales or business development within the packaging or capital equipment industry.
- 5+ years of experience selling into complex, technical environments (e.g., industrial equipment, manufacturing systems).
- 3+ years of experience managing a defined sales territory with accountability for revenue targets or quotas.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in a professional setting.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- 3+ years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., engineering, operations, customer support).
Preferred Qualifications- 3+ years of experience working with or selling liquid packaging machinery or integrated production systems.
- 3+ years of experience selling specifically within liquid packaging or closely related industries.
- 3+ years of experience leading complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with integrated automation systems or custom-engineered equipment solutions.
- Proficient in Spanish (written and verbal).
Compensation range: $91,000 - $136,000. The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
