The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Outpatient CDI Outsourcing Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

The Outpatient CDI Outsourcing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end leadership and performance of outsourced outpatient CDI engagements, including both supplemental and fully outsourced programs. This role ensures delivery of high-quality, compliant, and efficient outpatient CDI services while supporting consulting revenue objectives and maintaining strong vendor and client relationships.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, people leadership, vendor management, and deep outpatient CDI expertise.

Outsourced Engagement & Client Management
  • Provide overall operational leadership for assigned outsourced outpatient CDI engagements (supplemental and total outsource).
  • Partner with Consulting Services to support revenue goals and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for performance, quality, and vendor-related issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contracted vendors and internal stakeholders.

Operational Excellence & Performance Management
  • Ensure outpatient CDI operations meet or exceed quality, productivity, and turnaround time targets.
  • Continuously monitor operational metrics, trends, and KPIs; identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for performance gaps or compliance concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to ICD-10-CM/CPT guidelines, APC methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

People Leadership & Development
  • Directly lead and supervise assigned outpatient CDI staff.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback to support professional growth.
  • Allocate work assignments, monitor progress toward objectives, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage employee-related processes including compensation input, performance reviews, and policy enforcement.

Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Address policy violations promptly and consistently.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Your Skills and Expertise

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university with (7) seven years of experience in outpatient CDI management in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

High School Diploma/GED AND (12) twelve years of experience in outpatient CDI management experience in a private, public, government or military environment

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

RHIA or CCS certification

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

CCDS-O, CRC, or RAC certification

Minimum of 5 years of outpatient CDI experience

ICD-10-CM/CPT and APC methodologies experience

Clinical documentation improvement and revenue cycle workflows experience

Quality-of-care measures (e.g., outpatient - HEDIS, OQR) experience

Work Location : Remote-United States

Travel: Up to 50% [domestic/international]

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $125,600 - $172,700, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
