Outbound ManagerPosition SummaryThe Outbound Manager oversees all outbound warehouse operations to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient order fulfillment. This role leads outbound teams, manages daily execution, drives continuous improvement, and ensures service excellence while meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Operations• Schedule workloads, assign tasks, and monitor performance across all outbound shifts.
• Ensure efficient material flow through picking, packing, staging, and shipping areas.
• Collaborate with Inventory, Receiving, Transportation, and Sales teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor outbound processes for accuracy, quality, and proper handling prior to shipment.
• Track and report productivity, order accuracy, on-time shipping performance, and error rates; identify and correct process inefficiencies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve service, and enhance productivity.
Team Leadership• Lead, train, and develop a team of supervisors, leads, and associates, ensuring clear performance expectations and accountability.
• Train associates on safety practices, equipment operation, and outbound quality standards.
• Conduct daily start-up meetings and communicate safety expectations, performance priorities, and productivity targets.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and integrity.
• Manage scheduling, timekeeping, attendance, and performance reviews.
Safety & Compliance• Ensure all operations comply with OSHA, Sonepar safety policies, and electrical handling standards.
• Conduct routine safety audits and ensure associates consistently use required PPE.
• Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance teams on equipment inspections, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications• Experience: 5+ years in a warehouse, logistics, or electrical distribution environment. 5 years in a supervisory role preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems used for order processing, shipping transactions, and reporting.
• Experience with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, SOP development).
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop people.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• PIT/Forklift operation (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck, order picker, etc.).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and 70 lbs occasionally.
• Warehouse environment with exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
Salary: $86,000 - $127,000 with bonus potential
