The OSP Make Ready Project Manager oversees the preparation of utility poles and underground infrastructure for new fiber/cable installation, ensuring compliance, safety, and timely completion of construction projects. They coordinate with pole owners, contractors, and engineers to manage permitting, field surveys, and remedial work, ensuring adherence to design plans and regulatory standards all while working under the direction and assistance of the department manager to ensure success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage multiple make-ready projects from the bid stage to project completion.
- Develop and maintain project timelines and provide progress reports to customers and upper management.
- Plan and organize work packages and schedules for deployment of field crews focusing on cost savings, efficiency and profitability.
- Coordinates the required manpower, subcontractors, equipment, material, lodging, fueling and staging needed for upcoming projects.
- Works with Field Superintendent to oversee the activities of manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors for the successful completion of the project per the job cost budget.
- Track material/hardware needs to ensure the crews are prepared for deployment.
- Track project billing with assistance from the project coordinator.
- Reviews Daily Performance Reports (DPRs) for accuracy and to stay abreast of project performance. Makes any necessary corrections to time records for approval by Department Manager.
- Takes corrective measures from information gleaned from DPRs and job budget to ensure projects remain on budget.
- Perform Bid Walks, attend customer meetings and/or speak with customers about upcoming projects, as needed.
- Assist Bidding & Estimating with the compilation of Level of Efforts (LOEs) for bids including the required manpower, subcontractors, equipment, material and time needed to complete the project.
- Bears a responsibility to Celerity to ensure all safety protocols, procedures and initiatives are met on job sites.
- Seeks alternate completion methodologies that would outperform the as-bid model. Shares findings with the Bidding & Estimating manager for creation of internal change orders.
- Notifies the Department Manager and Bidding & Estimating of any Change Orders. Assists with the compilation of the LOE for the Change Order and discusses it with the customer to obtain approval.
- Compares project progress against job budget.
- Completes the necessary documentation for project close out.
- Approval of project related invoices.
- Addresses any customer related issues that arise during the course of a project.
- Escalates issues to the Department Manager as needed.
- Assesses the talent of field personnel and provides input to the Department Manager.
- Performs other assignments as directed by the Department Manager.
Education and Experience:- BS/BA in related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
- 5+ years of telecommunications experience in ISP/OSP.
- Outside Plant (OSP) Telecommunications make-ready and construction project management experience is required.
- Must be able to manage multiple aggressive job schedules.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and scopes of work.
- Field experience capturing pole data, heights, guying structures, etc.
- Understanding of make-ready engineering packages.
- Microsoft Office 365 proficiency required.
- Proficiency with Visio, CAD, Google Earth, Katapault
- Valid Driver's License

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is primarily an office position with some need to travel to work sites. Monday-Friday.
Travel:Time will be spent at field locations as well as corporate office. Some out-of-area and overnight travel is also possible.
