Job DescriptionThe Orthopedic Technologist will work under the direction of the orthopedic/plastic surgeons and in collaboration with other members of the health care team of professionals in the fracture clinic.
Accountabilities:
- Provides care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of cast splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the orthopedic/plastic surgeon or the most responsible physician of the patient
Qualifications- Grade 12 or equivalent required
- Current registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologist required
- Three years experience as an orthopedic technologist required
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) required
- Emergency experience required
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required
- Knowledge and use of basic computer program preferred
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
- Good attendance and work record
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
Additional InformationHours: Currently days, eight hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
