The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:The Career & Success Coach supports incumbent staff by providing coaching services in the exploration of career paths in critical, high-demand positions at the organization. In addition to career exploration, the coach will help participants enrolled in academic programs to identify barriers, develop skills (time management, study habits, goal setting), and navigate college resources to improve academic performance and persistence, providing holistic, individualized guidance through proactive outreach, action planning, and referrals to support services like tutoring or counseling. They work with participants to foster self-sufficiency and goal attainment, acting as liaisons between students, schools, and the URCP program while tracking progress.

Essential Functions:- Coordinate and provide career coaching to incumbent staff seeking job changes or career advancement. With a focus on our high-demand positions, help employees explore career options by articulating job duties and minimum qualifications required for employment. Use personality and interest assessments to ensure compatibility in chosen career path.
- Provide regular one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and advising to participants enrolled in academic programs supported by URCP. Advise as to study skills, time management, and overcoming challenges which may prevent them from completing their program of study. Connect students with appropriate resources (tutoring, academic advisors, EAP) as needed. Track student progress, maintain records and follow up referrals.
- Coordinate Career Navigation Service (CNS) program which provides resume writing and interviewing workshops for program participants.
- Develop and offer training opportunities for URCP participants, based on participant-identified interests and organizational training needs.
- Manage shadowing experiences for career explorers and maintain relationship with supporting managers.
- Proactively connect participants with Talent Acquisition, Nurse Recruitment or other hiring departments across URMC to ensure placement of new graduates.
- Participate in monthly screenings of UR Career Pathways program applicants and facilitate bi-monthly orientation sessions for new participants.

Minimum Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree required in HR, OD, HRD or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience in education, training or orientation and related consulting experience required with career navigation and career coaching as workforce development strategies preferred.
- Master's degree preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); strong organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:- Career coaching certification (CCC, IFC or equivalent) within 6 months of hire preferred.
