Supervises daily Organics / Composting Operations and staff. This requires the Supervisor to adapt to fluctuations in input quality and quantity while ensuring the biological systems function efficiently to maintain continuous production.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises Organics / Composting staff and reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals.
- Knowledge of the lifecycle and upkeep of "yellow iron" equipment, such as loaders, grinders, screeners, and windrow turners.
- Supervises and monitors daily operations, and reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Collects weekly and/or monthly readings. Creates and submits records and reports.
- Oversees personnel needs of the operations including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- 4 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)
B. Preferred Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in composting, agriculture, farming, organics processing, or a related industry.
- Working knowledge of composting operations, biological processes, and organics management.
- CCOM (Certified Compost Operations Manager) certification preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.

☒ Field: This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. As part of the ongoing employment requirements, the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing-including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing-in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
PAY: The expected base pay range for this office/on-site position is $77,000 - 87,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
