Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking an Oracle Data Steward / Oracle Database Developer to support enterprise data management and database modernization initiatives. This role combines hands-on Oracle database development with data stewardship responsibilities, ensuring the quality, integrity, security, and usability of critical business data. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop database solutions, improve data governance practices, support data migration efforts, and optimize database performance in support of mission and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the quality, integrity, consistency, and security of enterprise data assets while supporting data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues through profiling, validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and ongoing monitoring efforts.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Oracle database applications, including complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and materialized views.
  • Create, optimize, and support SQL queries for reporting, analytics, application support, and system integrations.
  • Plan and execute data migration initiatives, including data extraction, transformation, validation, loading, and reconciliation activities.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to support data conversion, migration, and integration processes.
  • Analyze and tune SQL and PL/SQL performance, optimize database objects, and support application reliability and scalability.
  • Maintain database security through role management, auditing, access controls, and compliance-focused practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, administrators, and project teams to define data requirements and migration strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, migration plans, operational procedures, and data quality reports.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of Oracle database development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database 19c, and the development of packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and materialized views.
  • Experience planning and executing data migration initiatives, including ETL/ELT processes, data mapping, validation, conversion, and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience with SQL performance tuning, data governance principles, data quality management practices, and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data environments and complex database ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, master data management, and enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud migration, database modernization, or large-scale system integration initiatives.
  • Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams.
