Job Description: We are looking for an Optics Technician specializing in optical system assembly and custom tool operation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in opto-mechanical and electrical assembly techniques (soldering, lamination, machining) and has a good attention to organization and cleanliness. The ideal candidate should be extremely motivated and able to work independently and with ambiguity. Experience in optical, mechanical and electrical testing is a plus.
Responsibilities:- Lamination and processing of optical assemblies for prototypes.
- Hands on active alignment of optical modules used in AR devices.
- Careful hand assembly work and part processing.
- Rework of prototypes and components, both mechanically and electrically.
- Operating custom calibration and assembly equipment.
- Writing documentation and reports relating to assembly practices and opto-mechanical test data.
Minimum Qualifications:- Mechanical background and aptitude.
- 5+ years of experience in a related technical field.
- BS in ME, optics or related technical field.
- Experience in R&D lab for product development.
- Rapid prototyping (multi-disciplinary collection of skills).
- Laser safety experience.
- Calibration experience (camera based sensors).
- Experience authoring SOPs for assembly and test.
Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with clean room procedures and equipment.
- Optical metrology experience.
