Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: Leads Operators and O&M Technicians in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: - Responsible for operating and monitoring main control system.
- Performs Wastewater process control and preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance functions.
- Coordinates and works with maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance functions.
- Performs cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work areas including office, laboratory, cleaning of clarifiers, headworks, centrifuge, and other process equipment as assigned.
- May be required to work in sanitary sewerage collection systems including maintenance of lift stations.
- May be required to operate automotive equipment, including heavy trucks, forklifts and front end loaders.
- Adheres to all safety regulations.
- May train or assist in the training of OITs and assigned helpers.
QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background: - Bachelor's Degree in related field/or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Capable of being assigned as responsible charge of the facility with an ability to react to unplanned events.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training: - Grade III or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate.
- Valid driver's license.
- CDL license.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform the following: straight pulling, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to distinguish basic colors and various shades.
Additional InformationPay Range: $40.00 to $46.00 per hour.
