Full Job Description
EthosEnergy O&M is recruiting for an Operations Site Manager - Wind for its Sugar Creek Wind Farm, located in New Holland, IL. The Operations Site Manager is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the site providing leadership to the wind site(s) dedicated staff within to enable assurance that meets performance, safety, environmental, and financial targets. The role requires a successful candidate to possess a deep knowledge of wind turbine operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, maintenance, and corporate teams. This position reports to the Regional Manager and will be a primary point of contact for customer/client interactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead site technicians, planners, and administrative staff.
  • Coordinates day-to-day activities with site team and contractors.
  • Monitor KPIs such as turbine availability, energy production, curtailment, and downtime.
  • Optimize performance through data analysis, SCADA monitoring, and collaboration with OEMs.
  • Committed and accountable for all projects, products, and services ensuring that they are delivered on budget, on schedule, and meet or exceed the requirements of our customers.
  • Responsible for coordinating with owner's rep on projects, budgets, reporting and daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, wildlife protection requirements, and company policies
  • Responsible for driving key performance metrics at each site.
  • Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into place.
  • Works with Regional Manager to ensure site attracts, recruits, and retains a high performing work force.
  • Understand long-term contracts and works to ensure contractors are fulfilling contract requirements and looking for efficiency.
  • Support the site with outage planning and execution.
  • Seeks out and implements mid-term and long-term cost reductions and life extension strategies to maximize the lifetime margin of the projects.
  • Responsible for resolving any dispute, warranty, or any commercial matters
  • Ensure monthly reports and production data are completed on time and delivered to customer without error.
  • Ability to lead and inspire especially during uncertain times.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedure creation and change management initiatives.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The successful candidate will be a high energy individual and a strong preference for a collaborative/team approach to growing a business.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills include the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing at all organizational levels Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge is required.
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, SCADA systems, and electrical systems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi site or large technical teams.
  • Ability to interpret performance data and drive operational improvements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.

Experience

  • 5-10+ years of experience in wind operations or power generation operations.
  • Experience managing teams and budgets.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college to technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and/or education preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Regular work at heights exceeding 400 feet.
  • Strong eye-hand coordination required to safely operate and repair equipment.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding tasks such as climbing wind turbine towers.
  • Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
