Full Job Description
EthosEnergy is currently recruiting an Operations Shift Supervisor to be based at Crockett Cogeneration, in Crockett, CA.Crockett Cogeneration is a 240 MW electric generating station. It consists of a GE 7FA combined cycle plant and three auxiliary boilers for cogeneration steam supply to the neighboring C&H Sugar Refiner. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Control Room and outside OMT Union Operations staff to ensure Operational Excellence at Crockett Cogeneration providing a disciplined, rigorous and systematic focus on process execution, systems and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directs, plans and coordinates the activities and functions of on-shift operating personnel to ensure safe and reliable unit operations.
  • Ensure that facility is operated within Federal, State and City regulations and Ethos Energy procedures.
  • Analyze plant and equipment performance, and direct adjustments to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Direct the removal and return to service of equipment, as requested, for maintenance purposes and in accordance with established LOTO/Hold-off, Work Permit and Work Order procedures.
  • Evaluate operating procedures and revise same or recommend revisions depending upon scope of change required.
  • Evaluate operating components within the station and recommend changes toward improving their functional efficiency.
  • Recommend the formulation of operating procedures as required to obtain maximum equipment reliability, economy, safety and maximum manpower efficiency.
  • Administers the Company -Union Agreement, EthosEnergy' s Operating Procedures, and Crockett Cogeneration Directives and Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure that operator training is completed to maintain the skill level of operators.
  • Supervisors are expected to be proactive in supporting their crew and able to work as a team member.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Must recognize the position responsibility for shift work and overtime.
  • Must have the ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Strong leadership ability and capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Rational, calm and able to process competing priorities and give team direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within team and outward across plant departments.
  • Must have the ability to wear a respirator.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Control Room and/or Field operation of high -pressure boilers, turbine generators and all associated equipment.

Education Requirements

  • Engineering or degree in the physical sciences preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires periods of physical exertion, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and move material up to 40 pounds.
  • Have (or required to obtain) the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
