Conditions of employment- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
- May require TDY travel up to 30 days CONUS and OCONUS up to 20% of the time
- May require uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evening, weekends, and holidays

QualificationsWho May Apply: US CitizensIn order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience applying mathematical and statistical models to conduct cost-benefit analyses; evaluating system capabilities to inform strategic planning; presenting technical research findings to stakeholders to support decision-making; and guiding project teams in the execution of analytical studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next/second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)
