DEPARTMENT: OperationsREPORTS TO: Operations Manufacturing EngineerPOSITION DESCRIPTION:The Operations Manufacturing Engineer is versatile in day-to-day project support on the production floor, knowledgeable in mechanical and electronic systems as a leader for production counterparts, and resourceful in their willingness to tackle any growth enabling projects that the business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for existing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. This may include:
- Specify and procure new manufacturing equipment.
- Development of new manufacturing equipment with vendors.
- RFQ management, vendor assessment
- Manage equipment installation and re-tooling projects.
- Understand, implement and facilitate SMED, Kaizen, FMEA, on equipment and systems.
- Understand and manage TPM efforts that drive sustainable improvement.
- Manage preventative maintenance teams for auxiliary equipment.
- Understand and manage preventative maintenance tasks and execution including schedules, tracking, data collection and other related activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians, operators and other production personnel.
- Support Manufacturing Operations with continuous improvement and process optimization programs as assigned by the Technical Services Manager. i.e. Process optimization/part containment/equipment upgrades/skill assessment reviews of technical positions/On-going equipment PM monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement "In Control & Capable" process monitoring efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years of experience in a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering position with production equipment familiarity. Ideally a manufacturing facility.
- B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience with equipment procurement and vendor management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead equipment and equipment improvement projects to successful completion (on time, within budget, production capable.)
- Knowledge of Cartesian, 6 Axis robot, and continuous and indexed automation
- Strong manufacturing equipment and technical know-how.
- Demonstrates analytical proficiency and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to advance new technologies.
- Understanding of different types of materials used in manufacturing equipment.
- Willingness to be hands-on with equipment and machine upgrades.
- Demonstrates superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles
- Demonstrate teamwork in a cross-functional environment
- Demonstrates ability to think out of the box to recommend alternate solutions.
- Demonstrates ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and designs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Travel requirements are primarily domestic with intermittent international travel. Travel is on an as-needed basis and can peak around 20-30%.
Location: Twinsburg, OHPHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: While performing the duties, the employee will be required to sit and/or stand, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands, fingers and arms to feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms. Prolonged standing/walking periods of 12 hours. May be required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift to 50 pounds.
