The Opportunity
The Operations Manager (US External Affairs) is an individual contributor role responsible for providing strategic operational partnership, project management, and process optimization for the US External Affairs function. Sitting within the Strategy and Business Operations team, this key partner helps execute the function's mid-term strategies, handles complex operational initiatives, and manages critical business processes to drive efficiency and compliance risk mitigation.
Provides strategic thought partnership and business planning to internal teams to drive business impact and implement operational strategies.
Manages, evaluates, and enhances key business processes, systems, and tools to drive improvements, efficiencies, and compliance risk mitigation.
Proactively partners across the organization to equip and empower stakeholders to deliver on our Operating Principles.
Leverages an internal network to identify synergies, catalyze cross-functional action, and deliver cross-functional Public Affairs and Access (PAA) results.
Acts as a self-starter with the ability to manage up, guide leadership/stakeholders to achieve objectives, and prioritize work efficiently.
Contributes to a team culture of innovation, enterprise-level thinking, and collaboration, sharing best practices across the operations community.
Who you are
You have a Bachelor’s degree.
You have 4 or more years of relevant experience, specifically in operations, management consulting, or strategy and operations.
Expert-level project management skills and a proven track record of leading change management initiatives (including policy development and training planning).
Strong analytical skills with experience tracking and reporting out metrics and analytical insights.
Highly proficient in Google applications (gCal, gDoc, gSlides, etc.) with excellent long-term strategic thinking balanced with near-term execution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Certification (PMI, PMP, etc.) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with governmental affairs, patient advocacy, or healthcare policy.
Location
This position is based in Washington DC or our South San Francisco, CA Genentech Office; Washington DC is strongly preferred

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary Washington DC is $97,200/yr to $180,600/yr. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
