Position OverviewYou are a strategic leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for operational excellence. At FortisBC, you'll oversee LNG (liquefied natural gas) operations at our Tilbury LNG facility, guiding a skilled team and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production, storage, and transportation. Your role will involve cross-functional collaboration, emergency response leadership, and driving performance across critical energy infrastructure.
With your experience in gas plant operations, process safety, and project execution, you'll play a key part in maintaining asset health, managing budgets, and supporting long-term planning. In this role, you will:- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Tilbury LNG Facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production, storage, and transportation of LNG.
- Manage and mentor a skilled team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support operational goals, emergency response readiness, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee capital projects and maintenance programs, ensuring timely execution and alignment with budget and strategic objectives.
- Drive performance through effective planning, process optimization, and proactive asset management.
What it takes:- Bachelors degree in Engineering or certification as 4th class (or higher) Power Engineer, or other technical/trade education.
- 8-12 years of recent, related experience in the LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of LNG operations, including gas processing, refrigeration, cryogenics, and asset management is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and respond effectively to operational challenges and emergencies. Experience in unionized environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, safety management systems, and budgeting processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a collaborative and results-driven approach
