Operations Manager, Senior (Southern Border)

What you'll be doing

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the company's operations and warehouse department. This includes managing assigned departmental staff, ensuring efficient customer service, and overseeing all operational processes. The Operations Manager will be a key leader executing and implementing strategies to improve department efficiency and customer service.

You will be responsible for
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers.
  • Strategically plan and manage the customs operations, warehouse, and customer services, and assist team members in problem solving and addressing errors accordingly.
  • Responsible for ensuring direct reports are working towards meeting departments KPIs.
  • Initiate new client process including client set up, monitoring progress and follow up with client for regular updates. (Resources, execution, and approvals)
  • Support the Business Development team with client request such as quoting, providing data, and any other information as needed.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, quality management and customs requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to processes to identify deviations from standard.
  • Support line of business director in creating departmental budget and report high risk issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create detailed reports and documentation using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Align team efforts by practicing Critical decision making, effective planning and prioritizing tasks ensuring decision are aligned with company's vision.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment reaffirming the importance of urgency and accuracy while creating and fostering a continuous improvement culture.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient workflows to optimize team productivity, minimize downtime for smooth operations.
  • To provide the highest level of customer service by developing and maintaining customer service policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Ability to manage a group of +20 employees
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Hire and Terminate employees
  • Assign tasks to team members
  • Assists with training and guidance of direct reports
  • Monitor work volumes of direct reports
  • Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules

What we need from you
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years proven customs, compliance, or international trade experience.
  • Knowledge of Annex 24 and IMMEX program.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English) is necessary.
  • Full understanding of customs regulations in applicable country.
  • intermediate MS Office knowledge.
  • CSI knowledge.
  • Preferable AES knowledge.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX
