Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Service and leading the Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Program (Community Paramedicine), the Operations Manager, Mobile Integrated Health (Community Paramedicine) will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, maintenance of comprehensive Medavie Health Services programs related to existing, novel, and integrated clinical programs.

You will do this through collaboration with internal and external health care partners to ensure clinical, operational, and financial goals of the organization are met.  The program uses mobile resources to deliver care and services to patients in an out-of-hospital environment in coordination with healthcare facilities and/or other healthcare providers while coordinating identified patient cohorts for follow up by the multi-disciplinary response team that includes Community Paramedics (CPs).

A community paramedicine program is a connected care model where it utilizes Community Paramedics to provide support, resources, and treatment in a community-based setting to ensure patient-centered care is achieved.  In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for the execution of special projects that are relevant to Mobile Integrated Health (Community Paramedicine) within our communities that we serve.
 

Professional Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Post-Secondary education, In the Health Sciences field or an equivalent combination of education.
  • Have completed an approved paramedic training program and are currently registered as a paramedic in the province of NL.
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ experience as a paramedic, including minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a progressively responsible leadership role.
  • Proficiency with using electronic medical record system and patient care reporting.
  • Possess a valid Class 4 driver’s license in good standing in NL (or equivalent).
  • An Advanced Certificate or training as a Community Paramedic (or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Have advanced knowledge of Emergency Medical Services operations and health care quality management best practices, legislative acts, and the regulations and bodies that guide Emergency Medical Services
  • Have demonstrated experience and familiarity with mobile integrated (Community Paramedicine) healthcare models and program delivery.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with health system partners to develop and implement Mobile Integrated Health (Community Paramedicine) models of care.
  • Possess experience with research practices and knowledge of and demonstrated use of evidence-informed decision-making processes.
  • Have knowledge of local community health care needs, knowledge of facilitators and barriers to local population wellness.
  • Have working knowledge of standard business computer programs (ie. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Are committed to providing stellar levels of customer/patient service and have a passion for business growth within MHS.
  • Possess and demonstrate leadership abilities with a proven track record for inspiring and motivating others.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function an independent leader with a strong focus on internal and external partnerships.
  • Skilled in leading and developing staff.
  • Must use a positive and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Possess outstanding communication, negotiating, and dispute resolution skills.

Salary Range  

  • $105,000 to $115,000 annually.

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
