Full Job Description
Are you looking to use your expert manufacturing operations and engineering skills in an industry that supports and protects explorers and heroes? We could use your expertise on our team! As an Operations Manager I, you will drive strategic goals across multiple areas within operations, including manufacturing, production control, product engineering, and inventory control. You will lead initiatives to improve technologies, resolve operational challenges, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role also involves developing plans, budgets, policies, and procedures for operational activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage short-, mid-, and long-range maintenance plans for scheduled inspections, component/engine overhauls, component replacements, and modifications
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, and Flight Operations to align schedules with operational demand and program goals.
  • Oversee work package build, task card preparation, and induction planning for maintenance and modification events.
  • Monitor maintenance program compliance in accordance with FAA regulations, Maintenance Program (MP) requirements, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs)
  • Lead a team of maintenance planners---providing coaching, performance management, and professional development
  • Track and report key performance indicators including on-time induction, TAT (turnaround time), plan adherence, and deferred maintenance
  • Coordinate forecasting for parts, tooling, hangar slots, and labor to support planned and unplanned maintenance events
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning processes and reduce negative schedule impacts.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 7+ years of aviation maintenance experience, with time in a planning, maintenance and/or production control leadership role
  • Working knowledge of relevant FAA regulations and continuous airworthiness maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with maintenance information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience planning maintenance for Boeing 747-8
  • Familiarity with reliability programs and continuing analysis & surveillance systems.
  • A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification.


Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens.
  • Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions.
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments such as manufacturing floors or during team meetings.
  • Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary.
  • Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations.
