Operations Manager - Solid WasteLocation: Cumberland, BCAbout the RoleGFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Solid Waste operations in the Cumberland region. This role will oversee multiple service lines and play a key role in operational performance, safety, customer service, and contract management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage day-to-day operations for the Cumberland solid waste division
- Oversee multiple service lines including commercial, small residential, strata/condo, apartment, and portable waste services.
- Provide direct leadership to operations staff including drivers, supervisors, and support personnel.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Monitor operational performance including routing efficiency, service quality, and cost management.
- Support contract management and operational readiness related to roll-off services and upcoming contract opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional leadership and teams based in Victoria to align operational goals and strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications- 5+ years of operations leadership experience, ideally within the waste, transportation, logistics, or environmental services industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing field operations and frontline teams.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multi-line service operations is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of waste industry operations, roll-off services, or portable sanitation services is preferred.
