Responsibilities
As the Operations Manager for our Bowling Green, Ohio business, the intent of the role is to provide overall leadership; utilizing Best in Class manufacturing processes in order to daily meet our Organizational Pupose. Reporting to Vice President, the scope of the responsibilities include:
- Provide the leadership and technical competencies necessary to improve plant processing performance to sustained levels of safety, quality, service, and efficiency; utilizing Best Manufacturing Practices.
- Prepare product and employee scheduling which yields the greatest result at the most optimal cost. Create and manage the production budget.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through the sourcing of preferred vendors, effective production methodologies and processes, technical system enhancements, and training.
- Partner with the quality and engineering staff to identify opportunity for enhancement and improvement of end product.
- Provide coaching, training, staffing, and performance management for direct subordinates; creating development opportunities for succession planning.
- Provide analysis and trend conclusions for production related data; formulating strategy and plans for improvement.
- Lead and maintain a safe production environment by ensuring that all staff are compliant in safety regulations and protocols; acting with integrity and caution in the completion of tasks.
- Identify and recommend capital improvement projects for the plant, which offer the likelihood of enhanced revenue opportunity.
- Partner with other management staff in the resolution of customer concerns and quality issues.
- Demonstrate leadership competencies, modeling appropriate and positive impact behaviors to the production staff.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly reporting to communicate production levels, labor costing, staffing needs, anticipated obstacles and issues.
- Develop contingency plans for anticipated labor shortages, equipment outages, economic downturns, etc.
- Facilitate and reinforce customer identity initiatives with Production Staff.
- Actively engage with site Leadership Team through thought sharing and problem resolution.
- Communicate and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the highest quality and most effective product and service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:
An undergraduate degree in a related field of study.
7 to 10 plus years manufacturing leadership.
Exceptional leadership skills to benefit a Purpose Driven culture.
Strong business acumen in the formulation of strategic planning for enhanced profitability.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma; as well as 5S.
Excellent analytical process, and communication skills.
The targetted salary for this position is $120,000+, DOE.
