POSITION OVERVIEW:Our Operations Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the plant including, but not limited to the uncompromised safety of employees, the development and maintenance of an intense customer-focused culture, and accountability for the growth, operational performance, and financial results of the branch. Must be a team player and work collaboratively with branch leadership and sales team to achieve branch goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develop and implement a strategic and operational plan for the plant that addresses staff development issues, safety, operational excellence, quality improvement, financial performance, and delivery.
- Establish priorities and align departments and personnel to achieve strategic objectives.
- Ensure that the operation meets or exceeds business objectives, KPIs, dashboard metrics, and strategic initiatives and accurate and timely reporting of such information.
- Review monthly P&L results and work with department managers to ensure budget adherence and address variances.
- Conduct equipment analysis and make recommendations for enhancements and acquisitions.
- Benchmark key performance indicators and major processes in order to move towards best practices.
- Support, promote, and sustain the concept of continuous improvement techniques and tools, as well as adherence to standard processes in all aspects of the business.
- Instill a culture of superior customer care built on delivering a quality product on time, every time.
- Recruit, evaluate, and hire individuals with the skills, competencies, and talent to propel the organization forward.
- Drive a culture of reward, recognition, respect, and professionalism.
- Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance plans for all equipment.
- Guide staffing to ensure all shifts optimally utilize labor and capacity; respond to seasonality issues by adjusting labor accordingly.
- Oversee inventory control processes and procedures to include metrics for on-hand inventory, material aging, operating scrap, and receiving.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, or engineering preferred, or equivalent in relevant experience
- 5 years of operational experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous P&L responsibility preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high growth, and hands-on environment
- Must be team-oriented and customer service focused
- Must be able to work effectively with and manage a diverse group of people
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
