Operations ManagerHolland, MI The Role As an Operations Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the Manufacturing group's vision by providing insight and ideas on process, standards, best-practice, and tooling improvements that boost the team's effectiveness and efficiency. This position reports to the Vice President, Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities - Own budget, timeline, and financial performance for assigned projects and facility, manage the facility's budget and business plan, build quoted concept/hours plans, approve quotes per LOA, and lead project margin variance meetings with executive leadership.
- Manage the full associate lifecycle for the team, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, discipline, and time-and-attendance approval.
- Lead workforce planning, forecast staffing needs for assigned managers and partner with Recruiting to source, interview, and hire.
- Own the internal stage-gate process and project plan approvals across the team; review project status and report status and budgets to leadership.
- Facilitate Gemba discussions and lead improvement initiatives across the facility.
- Set and communicate team KPIs, and generate reporting to track them.
- Assign project locations within the facility and monitor day-to-day operational workflow.
- Serve as the primary customer interface for assigned projects.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Facilitate team training and take on special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Essential - Reliable transportation and the ability to travel; this role is focused on local clients with minimal travel required, but candidates should be able to travel within the US and Canada as needed.
- Eight (8)+ years of experience in machine build management.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing.
- High school diploma/GED plus six (6) years of technical training (BS/MA)
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing technology.
Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
- Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
