The Operations Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and strategic insights to the operational business groups and their project management teams. This role serves as a key financial partner, building trust and strong relationships to help leaders manage their projects and profit centers effectively. The ideal candidate will be proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting, with a strong ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-finance professionals. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, MBA or other certification is favorable but not required.
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance or corporate accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a direct operations or project-focused environment.
Travel: 5-10%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Strategic Financial Partnership: Acts as a financial business partner to project management and operational leadership on complex initiatives and strategic decisions.
- Operational & Project Analysis: Provides detailed financial analysis and insights to support business strategies, focusing on project profitability, customer analysis, and overall financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Leads and supports the budget and forecast processes for supported operational groups to ensure alignment with short- and long-term business goals.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyzes financial results, monitors variances, identifies trends, and recommends actions to operational leaders to optimize financial project performance.
- Data Interpretation: Interprets and communicates complex financial data to support decision-making, highlighting trends, causes, risks, and opportunities.
- Process Improvement: Drives ongoing improvement and innovation in financial processes, procedures, and tools within the operations finance function.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serves as the primary liaison between operations and other financial departments (e.g., accounting, tax) to ensure accurate financial project alignment and resolve unique issues.
- Cash Flow and Profitability Management: Monitors project cash flow, including over/under billing and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and performs profitability analysis for projects and customers.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Leads special projects and provides ad hoc financial analysis as required by operational and finance leaders.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
