Operations Engineering Specialist I in GAC St. Louis

Unique Skills:

The compensation range for this role is $93,610 - $127,435.35 per year.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Preferred Skills:

Fundamental understanding of aircraft structures design and repair with practical hands on aircraft engineering experience and technical problem solving. The ability to use computer aided design tools such as Solid Works, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, or similar in the design, analysis, or interrogation of aircraft structures, cabin monuments, or systems. Must have experience providing shop floor instructions and working directly with the technical workforce technicians, leads, and managers.

1. Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization's position with external and internal customers.

2. The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-disciplined team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, managers, etc

3. Experience designing aircraft structural repair drawings with basic static stress analysis in support of the drawing

4. Aircraft or aviation MRB experience creating dispositions in a manufacturing environment

5. Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb stands and ladders and move about typical aircraft work platforms.

6. Experience designing aircraft structural repair drawings using basic static stress analysis in support of the drawing.

7. Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.

8. Experience with parts manufacturing methods, techniques and practices and the ability to support manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred. 5 years in the specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines, or 3 years in the specific technical discipline with Masters degree, or 1 year in the specific technical discipline with PhD.

Position Purpose:

Assist with the planning, coordination, performance of methods, tooling, and design supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. For manufacturing process to which individual is assigned: provide and maintain detailed work instructions, drive quality improvements, efficiency improvements, material presentation enhancements, manage the daily work plan, provide metrics for quality and schedule performance, and coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required. to meet Operations goals.
  2. Contribute to the planning, developing and coordinating of important manufacturing and engineering projects aimed at process development and improvement in the manufacturing areas.
  3. Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Operations Engineering team members.
  4. Use advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that affect the successful manufacture of the aircraft, installation of systems, or performance of the final product.
  5. Determine and develop individual approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  6. Work under limited supervision - work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
  7. Act as liaison with representatives from other organizations and suppliers.


Additional Functions:
  1. Actively work to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements. .
  2. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of processes and company product. .
