Full Job Description
Position: Operations Engineer II - AMZ23150.4 Location: Boston, MA Multiple Positions Available: Plan, design and implement complex high-volume direct-to-consumer fulfillment processes, systems and facilities for capacity expansion and continuous improvement of worldwide fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network that increases criticalto-quality (CTQ) business needs by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance; Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects using MS Excel, AutoCad and MS Project; Work with complex Material Handling Systems, packaging equipment and other processing gear to design safe and efficient fulfillment processes; Use Process Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and/or Kaizen to analyze Fulfillment Center processes and equipment and recommend and implement improvements to safety procedures, work processes and labor standards; Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for the network, including equipment specification, material flow, process design, and site layout; Manage capital projects and create conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment; Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors. Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling, processing and storage; Develop and manage budget and contract documents including Requests for Proposals, change order controls, purchase orders and invoicing; and Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new and existing equipment. Ability to travel 50-75% of the time with some international travel if needed. (40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $104125 - $114900) BASIC QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Business, Management, or related field and 1 year of experience in job offered or related occupation. In the alternative employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Business, Management, or related field and three (3) years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience must include: 1.1 year of experience utilizing AutoCAD to design or provide engineering input on technical projects. 2. 1 year of experience utilizing analytical tools to design data charts and graphs including strategic layout design and planning. 3. 1 year of experience leading cross-functional teams during different stages of a project and making informed engineering decisions to guide the project/product lifecycle. 4. 1 year of experience reporting and presenting engineering analysis and recommendations to senior leadership. 5. Ability to travel 50-75% of the time with some international travel if needed. The pay range for this position in Boston, MA is $104125 - $114900 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
