Full Job Description
Were seeking an experienced administrative Operations Director to lead our clinic in Hood River, Oregon. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and service. This is a full-time, in-office position.

The Operations Director is responsible for leading Clinical, Dental, and Operational Support teams and works closely with the Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer to continuously improve staffing, organizational capacity, patient access, staff engagement, coordination, and service delivery. This position also works closely with managers and supervisors to support staff performance, professional development, and continuous improvement. The Operations Director also has significant responsibility for clinical quality and collaborates with Clinical Integration, the Risk Manager, and the Director of Quality and Compliance to promote continuous quality improvement, with particular focus on coordination and integration among clinical disciplines, community partners, and patient-centered systems of care.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Operations Director collaborates with organizational leaders in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, strategic initiatives, and process improvements that support OCH goals and foster a culture consistent with OCHs mission, vision, and values while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Five or more years of clinic operations leadership experience.
  • Five or more years of supervisory or people-management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered care delivery.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic systems used in healthcare or business operations.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between OCH locations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop, and support managers and staff.
  • Knowledge of staff management, recruitment and selection, employee relations, training, performance improvement, and workplace safety.
  • Strong business acumen, including knowledge of financial and business analysis techniques necessary to support budget responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clinical and operational concepts to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect, research, analyze, interpret, and present data and reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Advanced degree in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or FQHC Look-Alike.
  • Knowledge of HRSA requirements and expectations.
  • Understanding of healthcare policy, healthcare finance, reimbursement, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in an integrated, team-based care setting, including Patient-Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH) or Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) models.
  • Ability to qualify as a CLIA Laboratory Director.
  • Advanced training in management, leadership, team dynamics, or communication.

Compensation:
  • Salaried/Exempt: 100k-115k annually, dependent on experience
  • Bilingual Differential: Additionally, we offer $0.75 per hour as compensation for bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
