Full Job Description
The Operations Data & Process Improvement Manager is Rogue Valley Door's cross-functional process owner and improvement engine on the manufacturing floor. Using production data, process knowledge, and technology, this role identifies and drives opportunities that improve productivity, quality, efficiency, capacity, and profitability. Sitting at the intersection of Operations, IT, Quality, Purchasing, Safety, and Sales, the position standardizes and improves the processes every production line depends on - authoring SOPs, administering maintenance and reporting systems, analyzing operational and cost data, and leading the projects that raise throughput and cost performance.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor leadership role. Authority comes from owning systems, setting standards, facilitating cross-functional decisions, and making evidence-based recommendations - not from a large team of direct reports.

This is a Monday through Friday, day shift position. Salary is DOE.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Data & Analysis
• Collect, organize, and analyze production and operational data - labor, quality, yield, downtime, material usage, capacity, and lead times.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs (e.g., weekly labor-cost and MRP-snapshot reporting) that give leadership and the floor a clear, current picture of performance.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to Operations leadership and monitor results after changes to confirm improvements deliver the expected impact.

Continuous Improvement & Process Engineering
• Map, redesign, and document current and future production processes; facilitate structured problem-solving and improvement activities with production teams.
• Define and deploy shop-floor standards (panel classification, groove/veneer specs, machining specs) as controlled engineering documents.
• Scope new products or departments and issue recommendation memos that inform go/no-go decisions.
• Own the SOP program end to end: the Confluence library, template, approval workflow, and 50+ operator manuals and process standards.

Maintenance Program Administration (MaintainX)
• Serve as operational owner of the CMMS, including its integration with the ERP.
• Originate and dispatch work orders (~400/year) to the technician team; author maintenance SOPs; monitor completion rate, backlog aging, and preventive-vs-reactive mix.

Systems, IT Liaison & Reporting
• Serve as the primary liaison between Operations/Production and IT, translating shop-floor needs into system requirements and coordinating ERP module rollouts.
• Contribute to the IT Steering Committee's Business Process Request pipeline, prioritizing by operational impact and cost savings.
• Participate in testing, implementation, and rollout of new systems; troubleshoot production-related system and data issues.

Meeting Facilitation
• Facilitate recurring Operations, Production, and Process Improvement meetings: build data-driven agendas, keep discussion focused on decisions, and document action items, owners, and due dates through to completion.

CAD & Technical Support
• Create and maintain CAD drawings, production layouts, equipment layouts, and visual work instructions in support of improvement projects.

Safety, Facilities & Special Initiatives
• Support safety tracking and dashboards, facility mapping, and environmental/permitting data needs.
• Represent RVD in cross-organization programs (e.g., Strategic Energy Management, R&D tax-credit study) that require operational and process data. Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; advanced Excel; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Manufacturing process engineering / continuous-improvement methodology - process mapping, standard work, controlled-document management.
• Systems and data fluency (ERP/MRP, CMMS, dashboarding) and the ability to interpret and create CAD drawings.
• Strong facilitation, project coordination, and written/verbal communication skills; able to drive accountability across departments.
• Ability to work independently across multiple concurrent projects and priorities. Preferred Qualifications
• Manufacturing or production experience; experience with ERP, MRP, MES, or CMMS platforms (e.g., MaintainX).
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other formal process-improvement methodology.
• Experience with Power BI or other BI tools, and CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
