  • Conduct safety meetings and observations to maintain a safe work environment
  • Support day-to-day troubleshooting and maintain product quality
  • Participate in pulp mill reliability initiatives
  • Oversee housekeeping and 5S activities in the area

Full Job Description
This position reports to the Pulp Mill Business Unit Manager at the Ticonderoga, NY mill. The Operations Maintenance Coordinator will focus on several key functions for the department including: coordination between Operations and Maintenance, MSWS support, lockout coordination and management of basic care and findings. This role will also ensure communication and feedback to department personnel regarding work notifications and requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Filters, prioritizes and coordinates all maintenance work orders
  • Coordinates and communicates with maintenance and planners
  • Responsible for producing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Works with maintenance to ensure all work orders receive timely rough cost estimates
  • Ensures operations has effective lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Responsible for a safe work environment, including conducting safety meetings, safety observations, and correcting unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Provide support for day-to-day troubleshooting and product quality.
  • Participate in pulp mill reliability initiatives.
  • Responsible for and direct housekeeping and 5S activities in the area.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of pulp and paper experience or bachelors in engineering with at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Pulp department- safety environmental, costs, quality and customers
  • Experience and knowledge of wood yard and caustic operations and PSM (Process Safety Management), preferred not required.
  • Candidates must possess the ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, an understanding of team concepts, a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as well as an established skill to execute work based on standards and procedures.
  • Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated ability to enforce accountability.
  • Proven Safety Leadership Skills
  • Demonstrated competence to work:
    • With minimum supervision
    • With all levels of mill management
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
