Perform various overhaul, rework, repair and associated operations on aircraft equipment and components in both standard and non-standard environments to maintain flow of work while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Perform work in accordance with various instructions such as service manuals, workbooks, service bulletins, technical orders, blueprints, customer service instructions and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures.
  • Perform various duties to accomplish disassembly, rework, repair, inspection, machining, and associated operations including de-burring, emerying and lapping on various products utilizing proper procedures and techniques in order to conform with quality standards.
  • Ensure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms, and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable.
  • Perform a variety of material control and handling duties such as unloading, receiving, storing, disbursing, packaging and shipping material and equipment. Perform and maintain point-of-use inventory.
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor all necessary records such as check lists, log sheets, unit history records, routing sheets and schedules.
  • Operate computer terminals to retrieve, enter or verify information.
  • Set-up and perform appropriate inspection operations including receiving, visual, dimensional, write-up, rework instructions, acceptance/rejection determination and serviceability review.
  • Perform external visual check for damage and abnormalities and record on unit history record and/or receiving inspection form.
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as surface plate, dial indicators, height gages, micrometers, hardness testers, and pi tapes to perform required checks.
  • Review customer service instructions to determine extent of service to be performed.
  • Order all necessary parts by utilizing automated parts inventory system.
  • Prepare units for preservation and shipping.
  • Clean and degrease parts as required. Monitor PH level for aqueous cleaners.
  • Obtain, move and expedite units, parts and material within shop to support operations.
  • Perform appropriate rework, repair and fitting operations on various sheet metal assemblies such as stator and shroud assemblies. Operations include abradable removal, masking, gritblast, torch cutting, torch braze touch-up, induction braze, tackweld, polishing, blending and final rework.
  • Operate various equipment such as lathes, millers, grinders and drill presses to perform repetitive operations including premachining of seal fins, machining air seals, removing of air seals and EDM removal of vanes where equipment has been set up.
  • Provide set-up assistance for operations at machining, welding, flame spray, oven brazing, heat treat, NDT, and plating.
  • Operate heat treat ovens and furnaces to support stress relief operations.
  • Set-up and operate cordax measurement machine (CMM) to make measurements such as I.D., OD and drop height.
  • Select, devise and/or adapt simple tooling fixtures and work holding devices.
  • Verify work performed.
  • Apply coatings such as sermetel anti-galling compounds, primers, paints and adhesives.
  • Support customer witness needs as required.
  • Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision.
  • Perform minor and preventive equipment maintenance such as check fluid levels, lubricate fittings, clean or replace filters, replace bulbs and tighten fittings and/or hardware.
  • Perform process reviews as required.
  • Instruct one or two fellow employees in proper performance of duties.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.
  • 2nd Shift 3:30 pm - 12:00 am Monday - Friday
  • Training will be on 1st shift for ~3 months.


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a HS diploma and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or in the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours: Monday - Friday 3:30 AM - 12:00 AM.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 SFT part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

The salary range for this role $34.80 - $43.75 per hour; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
