Full Job Description
Responsibilities:

The Hardware Product Verification and Validation Test Engineer (HW PVV Test Engineer) will create and execute machine test plans and manual test plans for hardware testing on offroad construction and highway equipment. Determine requirements for product verification & validation related activities for the evaluation of hardware digital solutions. Create and drive Vision activities for connectivity projects. Determine and drive testing activity priorities. Work with electrical hardware and sheet metal as a part of the on-machine engineering process. Act as responsible owner for Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) activities for new hardware solutions for projects. Work with 3rd party suppliers for pre-design investigation and attachment of hardware. Serve as contact and liaison between hardware and product development teams. Analyze connectivity and machine data using CAN, telematics, and diagnostic tools to support validation, troubleshooting, and performance assessment during bench and on-machine testing. Support validation and discovery of telematics and connectivity hardware solutions Support prototype, pre-production, and production hardware builds, including issue tracking and regression testing. Position allows working from home within commuting distance of worksite location for one day a week.

Requirements

  • Requires at least Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Must possess 3 years (36 months) of experience with all of the following: (a) using MATLAB Simulink to develop models, simulate, and analyze Control System Design and multidomain interactions; (b) developing applications using C, C++, Python, SQL for off-road construction and highway equipment; (c) validating integrated machine control functions on construction and heavy machinery; (d) conducting testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of models and code on ADO Azure Dev Ops; (e) creating and executing machine test plans and manual test plans on construction and heavy machinery: unit testing, Vehicle-inthe-Loop (VIL) testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), black-box, and boundary condition testing; (f) developing automation environments including rest vectors and scripts to increase test coverage and reduce manual testing; (g) using Jenkins to deploy CI/CD pipelines; and (h) utilizing all of the following: Python, C++, C, MATLAB, MATLAB SIMULINK; SAE J1939; CAN communication; Simcenter STAR-CCM+, SolidWorks, and GIT for version control. Experience may be gained concurrently.
  • Position allows working from home within commuting distance of worksite location for one day a week.
