About the PositionOur client is seeking an experienced
Onsite Project Manager to oversee field operations and support the successful delivery of commercial roofing projects throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This individual will serve as a key link between the field and office, providing leadership to foremen, crews, and subcontractors while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company and customer expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, coordinating labor and materials, monitoring installation quality, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring effective communication across all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support foremen, field personnel, and subcontractors on active roofing projects.
- Visit job sites daily and oversee safe, efficient roof system installations.
- Conduct and participate in jobsite safety audits and meetings.
- Train and mentor field personnel in safety, installation techniques, productivity, and work quality.
- Track labor hours and production against established project goals.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, deliveries, and subcontractor activities.
- Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and anticipate project needs.
- Review project plans, specifications, contract documents, and jobsite conditions.
- Develop site-specific safety plans and assist with pre-job planning and work sequencing.
- Inspect completed work and maintain high standards of installation quality.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing project updates and addressing questions or concerns.
- Coordinate communication between field operations and office personnel.
- Maintain accurate reports, project documentation, photographs, and required paperwork.
- Investigate and document incidents, near misses, accidents, and other jobsite issues.
- Review project documentation to ensure change orders and other project changes are properly captured.
- Participate in project closeout activities and manufacturer inspections.
- Work closely with project management and operations leadership to achieve company and project goals.
Requirements- 5+ years of relevant construction or roofing field leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation practices.
- Proven ability to lead crews, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA requirements.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and other project documents.
- Experience managing labor, production goals, materials, equipment, and project schedules.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with customers, field personnel, and office staff.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Additional specialized equipment or roofing certifications are a plus, including forklift, crane, man lift, rigging, or manufacturer-specific training.
Benefits- $80,000-$100,000 base salary, depending on experience.
