Hybrid Field Expectations

This position is designed as a hybrid FRM role, combining virtual account support with targeted in-field engagement.
  • Approximatelyup to 40% travel is required based on territory and business needs.
  • Field activity should focus on priority accounts and situations where in-person engagement provides meaningful value.
  • Travel may include healthcare provider offices, oncology practices, health systems, academic medical centers, infusion centers, client meetings, conferences, and internal meetings.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • The FRM is expected to effectively manage both virtual and field-based account engagement across the assigned geography.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following experience/education pathways:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum requirement 2-4 years of oncology Field Reimbursement Manager experience or directly relevant oncology reimbursement/access experience.
  • Extensive relevant oncology FRM experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as an Oncology Field Reimbursement Manager, Field Access Manager, Reimbursement Business Manager, or similar field-based reimbursement role.
  • Strong understanding of oncology reimbursement across both medical and pharmacy benefit models.
  • Experience with buy-and-bill products, specialty pharmacy distribution, infusion therapies, and/or provider-administered medications.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer reimbursement processes.
  • Experience supporting prior authorizations, appeals, claims, coding and billing education, and reimbursement-related provider education.
  • Experience working with community oncology practices, large health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and/or academic medical centers.
  • Experience delivering in-person and virtual presentations to healthcare professionals and office staff.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and field activity reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of oncology reimbursement and access landscape.
  • Ability to translate complex reimbursement information into clear, actionable education for healthcare providers and office staff.
  • Strong knowledge of payer policies, reimbursement pathways, billing and coding concepts, prior authorization processes, and appeals.
  • Ability to identify reimbursement trends and proactively develop account-level strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and territory-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize accounts and activities based on business need, access complexity, and potential impact.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to appropriately escalate complex reimbursement issues.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where processes and client needs may evolve.

Travel Requirements

Up to 40% travel required, including local and regional travel within the assigned territory and occasional overnight travel. Travel requirements may fluctuate based on account needs, client priorities, training, and business meetings.

Compliance Expectations

The FRM provides education and reimbursement support to healthcare providers and authorized office staff and must operate within established program and compliance guidelines. The FRM does not provide clinical advice and must use only approved resources and materials when educating external stakeholders.

Success in This Role

Success will be demonstrated through strong provider partnerships, proactive reimbursement education, timely identification and escalation of access barriers, high-quality account engagement, effective territory management, accurate activity documentation, and meaningful insights that help improve the overall provider access experience.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
  • Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
