Position Overview

The Oncological Psychiatrist is a board-certified psychiatrist who will provide comprehensive behavioral health services for patients of the Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary oncology team, the physician will address the psychological, emotional, and psychiatric challenges associated with cancer diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. The Oncological Psychiatrist will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care that enhances quality of life, supports treatment adherence, and helps patients and their families navigate the emotional complexities of the cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside, oncologists, nurses and social workers to treat cancer patients undergoing treatment.
  • Manage psychiatric symptoms caused by cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy-induced mood changes, delirium or cognitive effects.
  • Help cancer patients process and manage stress, anxiety, and depression and improve coping strategies.
  • Help ensure cancer patients are emotionally prepared and mentally resilient, which can improve treatment outcomes.
