Role Overview:

The Onboarding Project Manager will be part of the U.S. Public Equity Solutions group within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization. U.S. Public Equity Solutions service group is responsible for the engagement, onboarding, and day to day service management of corporate clients and their equity administration plan terms and associated service offerings. The candidate will work cross-functionally towards a goal of successful end-to-end delivery of onboarding projects bringing a willingness to do what it takes to get onboarding projects done in a timely and accurate manner. The candidate will build exceptional relationships with both immediate and cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment focusing on all aspects of client readiness and support for clients as they move through the full lifecycle of implementation activities onto the Morgan Stanley at Work equity administration platforms.

This position is responsible for the successful management of several concurrent projects. Projects include the implementation of Stock Plan Administration and Employee Broker Services for corporate clients in a timely and high-quality fashion. The Project Manager will manage the client relationship, ensuring that they and other team members understand and perform their responsibilities, maintain a high level of client satisfaction and continuously assess project risks.

This highly visible position involves interacting with a variety of individuals internally and externally and at all levels of the organization. Candidate must be driven and a self-starter, be organized and detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills.

What you will do in the role

Responsible for the successful end to end delivery of Client Onboarding projects, including but not limited to:
  • Serving as the primary contact for assigned corporate clients throughout the onboarding process, maintaining a client-focused, yet firm approach.
  • Using established tools & processes, act as the key contact between new clients and internal stakeholders to establish project requirements and timelines
  • Engaging in scoping and requirements gathering, understanding customer requirements and relaying them back to the onboarding technical specialist and/or or software development team where appropriate.
  • Establishing and meeting goals, assign and direct the work of others, and manage multiple requests with minimal direction.
  • Enforcing project schedules, deadlines and standards.
  • Leading project reviews to assess schedule, processes, assess risks and facilitate communication and negotiation.
  • Providing regular reporting to applicable managers, executive team, and the client as required.
  • Auditing, monitoring and leading the correction process to ensure project and resource data is maintained consistently in accordance with standards and methodologies.
  • Actively participating in resolution of issues and conflicts, internally as well as with clients and other vendors where appropriate; escalating issues in an appropriate, timely, and tactful manner


What you will bring to the role
  • 2+ years' experience in stock plan benefits and/or financial services
  • Strong client engagement skills with Fortune 500 companies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or similar field is preferred
  • PMP Certification or in process of working towards its completion
  • Certified Equity Professional designation, strongly preferred
  • In depth knowledge of Equity Compensation
  • Brokerage Industry Knowledge, preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Leadership: Able to take charge and lead projects with minimal supervision or follow-up. Leads by example and models the way for the broader team
  • Business Knowledge: Exhibits depth of knowledge relative to equity plan administration and recordkeeping software applications
  • Analytical Skills: Utilizes well-developed problem-solving skills necessary to research and trouble shoot inquiries through continual interaction with all departments.
  • Decisiveness: Able to make good quality decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Program & Project Management/ Support: Shows strong organization skills and project management disciplines. Reflects a strong understanding of the project management knowledge areas including scope definition, schedule development, resource planning, quality control, team development, communications, and risk management.
  • Communication: Has excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to Interact with external clients and internal stakeholders
  • Client Relationship Building: Demonstrates ability to meet customer needs in a timely manner, building productive customer relationships and taking personal responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Customer Focus: Clearly maintains a Customer Focus and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers.
  • Resilience: Able to work under periods of high pressure with tight timeframes. Able to maintain composure under high stress situations. Maintains positive demeanor and able to ease tension.
  • Shareworks/Equity Edge Online and/or relative administrative software knowledge a plus
  • Salesforce and Jira application knowledge a plus
  • Strong knowledge and use of MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access & Outlook)
