Full Job Description
The Injury Prevention Specialist is a client-facing role working directly and onsite with client team members to reduce the risk of workplace injury before it happens. This individual will be reporting at a client site located in Beltsville, MD. This position partners daily with the frontline employees performing the physical work, identifying risk factors, coaching on healthy movement and body mechanics, and building a prevention-first culture on the client floor. The Injury Prevention Specialist collaborates closely with client management, operations supervisors, safety teams, and occupational health professionals to design and deliver injury-prevention solutions, and provides regular program updates to internal leadership and client stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coaching & Injury Prevention

  • Provide coaching on health-related issues to help participants decrease the likelihood of injury, optimize movement, and achieve personal wellness goals.
  • Provide soft-tissue and musculoskeletal care, nutrition recommendations, fitness guidance, and early intervention options.


Education & Training

  • Present education to individuals and groups on injury prevention, biomechanics, health and wellness topics.
  • Facilitate safety training, ergonomic training, and other educational programs for client teams.


Job Task & Risk Evaluation

  • Perform job task evaluations to identify and mitigate injury risks.
  • Conduct worksite ergonomics and safety evaluations, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Perform and maintain Job Demand Analysis for each department.


Clinical Support

  • Provide first aid measures under the direction of the clinical team.


Client & Stakeholder Relationships

  • Develop rapport and trust with client employees, field supervisors, and mid-level management.
  • Deliver regular program updates to internal supervisors and client management teams.


Job Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
  • Bachelor's degree in health, wellness, exercise science, or a related field/experience.
  • Appropriate certifications and licensure required at the time of employment.
  • 3+ years of applied work experience in industrial or clinical settings preferred.
  • Experience facilitating safety training, ergonomic training, and educational programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).


Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience conducting worksite ergonomics evaluations, safety evaluations, training programs, and first aid treatment plans preferred.
  • Client service experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across all levels of a client organization.
  • Ability to communicate injury-prevention and biomechanics concepts clearly to both individuals and groups.
