Position Summary:
As an Office Management Specialist III, you will play a vital role in supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretaries and senior officials within the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Your responsibilities will encompass schedule management, travel arrangements, and correspondence coordination. You'll be the linchpin ensuring the smooth operation of this critical office

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
Includes the following:
• Receive, schedule, direct, and respond to telephone calls for the office, referring calls as needed and providing necessary information.
• Manage and maintain the schedules of senior NEA officials, including appointment coordination, rescheduling, and preparation of briefing materials.
• Handle social engagements on behalf of senior officials.
• Make complex and last-minute travel arrangements, including appointments, reservations, and travel advances.
• Act as a liaison between senior officials and other departments.
• Ensure the confidentiality of Top Secret and SCI information.
• Conduct research and compile data as needed.
• Prepare correspondence, telegrams, and memoranda following departmental guidelines.
• Process travel authorizations and vouchers.
• Review, forward, and compose correspondence for senior NEA officials.
• Maintain files and perform special assignments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory/management authority
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience with the Department of State or a similar agency, focusing on administrative and policy functions.
• Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance is required.
• Excellent knowledge of Department of State operations and office management.
• Experience as a senior-level secretary/office manager with the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in personal computers and general administrative practices.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
