Off-Shift Filtrete Production Supervisor
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Production Supervisor will work fixed night shift and will supervise and manage all functions involved in the production of 3M products.
As a Production Supervisor you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Promoting a safe and sustainable working environment through modeling safe behaviors as well as recognizing and resolving safety related problems.
- Establishing priorities and allocating work assignments in order to meet specific daily production requirements using lean management processes to meet customer expectations.
- Monitoring production rates, yields, and quality of products routinely, communicating results to employees and leveraging continuous improvement tools to improve scheduling, quality, and efficiency.
- Leading, coaching and developing employees through direct supervisor, floor presence, monitoring and coaching of production employees, providing recognition, overseeing training completion, policy administration and participating in hiring processes. May include contingent workers.
- Representing plant leadership team through supporting initiatives across the plant, including but not limited to supervision coverage for alternative shifts, being on-call and servicing as a primary plant management representative.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) year of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment
-OR-
- High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment
AND
- Current, valid driver’s license
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Three (3) years previous supervisor/management experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and leading others.
- Experience leading daily tier management process, leading continuous improvement projects (kaizens), and leading safety improvement projects.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
- Excellent problem solving and computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence change across the organization
Work location: On site: Clinton, TN
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic / international
