Job Types: part-time and full-time roles available with the option of a 4-day or 3-day work week
Salary: $80,000-$102,000.00 per year (amount pro-rated if part-time)
As an
Occupational Therapist (OT) on our team you are responsible for developing programs that enable individuals to participate, to their fullest level, in activities that occupy their daily lives. Your client-base will consist of children (age 2-18) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Take an inside look at what you will do each day: - Assess client needs and family priorities as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Complete assessments using tools such as standardized tests, criterion or curriculum referenced materials, or checklists
- Develop and implement a treatment plan for each client, based on assessment results
- Develop reports as required
- Consult to Behaviour Analysts who supervise Applied Behaviour Analysis Programs for Children with ASD and other needs
- Work collaboratively with the family and other community professionals
- Maintain knowledge in current evidence-based practices
- Collect data and make evidenced-based decisions in treatment
- Supervise students pursuing education in Occupational Therapy
- Represent OT department in Monarch House by contributing to clinical policies and procedures and other centre-wide visions
Here is what you will need to be successful: - At least 1 years' experience working with children with ASD
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Experience and familiarity with assessment tools (standardized tests, etc.)
- Knowledge of current research and literature in the Occupational Therapist (OT) field
- Member of COTBC / COTO / ACOT or eligible to apply
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Flexibility in scheduling clients
