Occupational Therapist (OT)

Pay: From $68/hour
Location: Alhambra, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Part-Time Available

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat residents, collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. You will also play an essential role in staff training, restorative care support, and patient-centered rehabilitation planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate residents to determine occupational therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and independence with ADLs
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students in compliance with state practice guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to support care planning and discharge goals
  • Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehab team discussions
  • Provide in-service training and education for facility staff on an ongoing basis
  • Complete timely and compliant documentation in systems such as Net Health and PointClickCare
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety protocols
  • Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and fall prevention
  • Recommend and coordinate durable medical equipment (DME) to promote independence (adaptive devices, splints, grab bars, etc.)
  • Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure department equipment is safe and functional

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required (Master's or Doctorate preferred)
  • Experience in skilled nursing, rehab, or long-term care settings preferred
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR systems such as Net Health, PointClickCare)


Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Occupational Therapist license (OT) in the state
  • License must be in good standing
  • CPR certification (if required by state or facility)
  • Meets all continuing education requirements


Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve clinical problems and manage patient care effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret clinical policies and procedures

Supervision
  • Supervises COTAs, therapy aides, and students
