Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Current state of Virginia license or eligibility to obtain one, along with CPR certification.
• Skilled in developing and implementing outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation treatment plans.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Familiarity with basic PC skills, including EMR systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and create tailored treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Review physician referrals and patient medical histories to determine required occupational therapy.
• Provide direct patient care following established protocols and guidelines.
• Document patient progress, findings, and instructions for both patients and caregivers.
• Oversee patient care delivered by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Develop a comprehensive written plan of care with achievable goals based on evaluations.
• Effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, including insurance companies.
• Ensure timely documentation of daily notes, progress reports, evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
