Job Description:



Ampersand Therapy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based position during the 2026-2027 school year. The OT will evaluate students, develop individualized treatment plans, provide occupational therapy services, and collaborate with families and school teams to help students participate successfully in their educational environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and reevaluations
  • Develop and provide individualized therapy interventions based on students' educational needs and IEP goals
  • Support students in areas such as fine-motor development, sensory regulation, self-care, accessibility, and daily school activities
  • Monitor student progress and adjust services as appropriate
  • Participate in IEP meetings, care conferences, and discharge or transition planning
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Recommend and provide training on adaptive equipment, assistive technology, orthotic devices, and environmental modifications
  • Educate students, families, caregivers, and school staff on strategies that support student independence
  • Complete accurate evaluations, progress reports, service notes, and other required documentation
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), when applicable, according to state regulations and company policies
  • Maintain student confidentiality and comply with all applicable professional, district, state, and federal requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • School-based or pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification and health documentation, if required by the assignment
  • Ability to meet applicable district, state, and federal background-check requirements
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to maintain confidential student information
  • Must be at least 18 years old
