As an Occupational Therapist at the Center for Disability Services, you will collaborate with physicians, family and/or treatment teams to evaluate functional strengths and needs in order to establish individualized, meaningful and appropriate therapy for the individuals we support.
Responsibilities:
- Assess functional abilities and occupational therapy needs.
- Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and reports accurately and timely.
- Communicate regularly with physicians, caregivers, interdisciplinary teams, school districts, and community service providers.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain professional competency and clinical knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, professional, agency, confidentiality, HIPAA, and safety requirements.
- May occasionally supervise COTAs, interns, students, or clinical aides.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Licensure/Certification(s):
- Current New York State Occupational Therapy license and registration required
Experience:
- Less than 1 year of related experience required
Working Conditions:
- Travel between locations and community sites as needed.
- May work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, behavioral challenges, and potentially high-risk community settings.
- Work across multiple teams and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, sitting, standing, and lifting.
- Ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to assist with lifts up to 150 lbs with support.
- Transfer and reposition individuals safely.
- Push/pull wheelchairs and equipment.
- Participate in emergency response, crisis intervention, and evacuation procedures.
Compensation Range:
$81,500.00 - $93,500.00
