Full Job Description
Location: Finchdene (Scarborough, ON) -270 Finchdene Square, Scarborough, ON M1X 1A5 Region: Central Region - Province of Ontario, encompassing the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), Southwestern Ontario, and Northern Ontario branches. More than 70% of the role's field activity will be focused within the GTHA. Travel: Frequent travel within the Central Region is required, with the majority of time spent in the field across GTHA job sites and branches.
What we expect
• Implement and maintain TKE OSH policies, programmes, and management systems for the Central Region, ensuring alignment with company requirements and driving measurable continuous improvement across safety, health, and quality.
• Develop, revise, and administer health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including identifying and communicating new legislation as it arises.
• Perform Job all workplace types - maintenance, repair, modernisation, new installation, and construction - ensuring adherence to company and legislative requirements.
• Conduct hazard assessments and job safety analyses in both field and office environments.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, prepare recommendations for corrective and preventive actions, and ensure implementation.
• Ensure the execution of safety inspections, risk assessments, Fatality Prevention Process Evaluations, and administrative self-checks, including regular inspection of safety equipment for compliance with applicable standards.
• Partner with regional HR and other areas of the organisation to establish safety training requirements, develop and deliver training programmes, and ensure all employees are covered through onboarding and OSH orientation.
• Ensure the organisation and proper execution of branch Joint Health & Safety Committees in accordance with provincial legislation.
• Serve as a liaison between workers and management on health and safety matters; lead, influence, and encourage compliance by building relationships with mechanics and leaders.
• Develop and execute a mid- to long-term regional action plan focused on safety culture change and continuous improvement.
• Advise and support regional leadership on safety-related topics, programme actions, and escalated situations, enforcing preventative measures in collaboration with the Director, Health & Safety.
• Collect, prepare, and present regional KPIs to the Director, Health & Safety on a regular cadence, discussing deviations and solutions.

Who we are looking for
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a regional or field-based safety role, preferably within a branch or multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and provincial health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Proven experience conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships in a unionised environment.
• Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive incident prevention programmes.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency in French an asset.
