Full Job Description
We're growing! We're looking for passionate, driven, and energetic candidates to join our team for the position of Occupational Health & Safety Specialist located at our office in Guelph, Ontario.

Compensation: Starting at $90,000.00 annually plus bonus.

As an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist, you will support the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of Skyline's health and safety programs across the organization. This position plays an important role in promoting a safe, compliant, and prevention-focused workplace by supporting health and safety policies, procedures, training, inspections, incident reporting, return-to-work processes, and Joint Health and Safety Committee activities. The Occupational Health & Safety Specialist will work collaboratively with managers, employees, and committees to help identify risks, strengthen safe work practices, and support Skyline's commitment to creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people, and our communities.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs.
  • Assisting with the coordination and administration of health and safety objectives.
  • Assisting with incident, injury, near-miss, and workplace hazard reporting, including documentation, follow-up, and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Conducting and facilitating hazard assessments, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Reviewing workplace safety concerns and supporting investigations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participating in the development and communication of health and safety materials, including procedures, forms, and training resources.
  • Staying current on applicable health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices to support compliance across Skyline.
What You Bring
  • A strong understanding of occupational health and safety requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and safe work practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain health and safety requirements to employees and managers.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify practical improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to build positive working relationships with employees, managers, Joint Health and Safety Committees, and external partners.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant workplace experience.
  • Previous experience supporting occupational health and safety programs, workplace inspections, incident reporting, training, WSIB claims, or return-to-work processes is an asset.
