Total Rewards: Benefits/Incentive InformationGENERAL FUNCTION The APQP Quality Engineer will be supporting the New Product Development process to minimize the risk of product failures both in the manufacturing process and at the end-user. Through use of continuous improvement, data analysis, and effective use of lessons learned, the APQP Engineer will become an expert in product failure prevention at the early stages of development.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Work side-by-side with Design and Project Engineering, towards the development of new eyewear models that meet both the expected quality requirements as well as the expected development timelines.
- Effectively present information to the Manufacturing teams on the expected quality performance of new models with regards to production yields and quality concerns.
- Lead the analysis of product failures using systematic root cause analysis, problem solving techniques, and designed experiments.
- Drive the use of risk reduction tools such as FMEA and prototype testing at the appropriate project checkpoints during the New Product Development process.
- Effectively prioritize work tasks associated with concurrent fast-paced projects
- Efficiently assemble and present reports using Excel and Minitab.
- Display excellent level of customer service when working with other departments
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- BS Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in Quality/Engineering field
- Ability to manage work activities with high time pressures
- Strong organizing skills to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Statistical Quality Tools (i.e MSA, Cpk, SPC, Sampling Plans, Control Plans)
- Work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Ability to use a systematic approach to Root Cause Analysis
- Experience leading the use of risk mitigation tools (DFMEA, PFMEA)
- Ability to interpret Engineering dimensional specifications in order to guide part measurement
- Leadership & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with others positively.
- Ability to use data systems to interpret and report on data analysis (Excel, Minitab)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- ASQ CQE Certification
- Green Belt / Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma tools
- CAD and 3D modeling software knowledge
- Experience with plastic injection molding (Desirable)
- Chinese or Italian fluency is a plus
Pay Range: $96,854.15 - $132,828.83
