Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
  • 5 years of RN experience with leadership (charge nurse, preceptor) role
  • 3 years of experience in emergency or critical care preferred
  • Current RN license upon hire
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • BCLS certification prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly
  • CPI training within 60 days of hire
  • NRP certification upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
  • Ensure quality patient care and manage nurse-patient ratios
  • Mentor and guide nursing staff as a preceptor or charge nurse
  • Coordinate with different departments to enhance patient care
  • Maintain compliance with health standards and protocols
  • Assist in training new staff and developing nursing programs
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the unit

Nursing Supervisor (RN) Medical Surgical 4B - Full Time Days

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Plano, TX 75093

Work hours: Full Time Days 7a- 7p - Weekend and holiday requirements

Medical Surgical Department highlights:

  • 22- bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
  • 1:5 RN: patient ratio, 1 PCT for every 10-11 pts
  • Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred


Here's What You Need:

  • Associate's Degree Nursing Req And
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Pref
  • 5 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) Req
  • 3 Years Emergency and/or critical care nursing Pref
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req And
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program Upon Hire Req
