Description

Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, provides an intensive rehabilitation program, and admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day. Focused on caring for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitation conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.

Position Summary

As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting our team of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from various conditions, including stroke, brain injury, orthopedic injuries, and neurological disorders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing direct patient care: Assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Supervising and mentoring nursing staff: Assigning tasks, providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring quality and safety: Monitoring patient outcomes, identifying and addressing potential risks, and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality care practices.
  • Promoting patient-centered care: Fostering a positive and respectful environment for patients and their families, ensuring effective communication, and advocating for patient needs.
  • Participating in unit operations: Preparing schedules, managing budgets, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient patient care flow.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Licenses or Certifications
  • Current, unencumbered registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in the state where currently practicing.
  • Current BLS via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Current ACLS certification via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN®) is a plus.

Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading and improving clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Passion for patient-centered care and a commitment to rehabilitation services.
