Position Summary:The Nursing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to clients within the organization in Hilliard, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership and Management:
- Develop and implement nursing strategic plans aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Oversee nursing operations, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation across departments.
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all nursing personnel.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff.
2. Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality client care, following evidence-based practices and treatment protocols.
- Oversee and assist with client assessments, care planning, and the implementation of treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
3. Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, implement, and update nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Ensure nursing staff adherence to established policies and procedures.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff to provide education and support.
5. Quality Improvement:
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care and safety.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans as needed.
6. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
- Maintain accurate and complete client records and documentation.
- Perform chart audits to ensure compliance.
7. Education and Training:
- Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff on best practices in substance abuse treatment, clinical skills, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all nursing staff are compliant with licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Crisis De-escalation requirements per their job description.
- Stay current with developments in substance abuse treatment and incorporate new knowledge into practice.
8. Other Duties as Assigned:
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required to ensure the smooth operation of the treatment center.
- Participate in special projects, committees, and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:- Master's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Ohio or a compact state.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in substance abuse treatment or behavioral health.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards related to substance abuse treatment.
Working Conditions:- The position requires working in a clinical setting with patients who have substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
- The role may involve exposure to potentially stressful situations and requires the ability to handle crises and emergencies.
- Must be able to travel for professional development or organizational meetings as required.
- This is a full-time position, and the Nursing Manager may be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational or staffing/critical need.
